by wildgeeks on Jul 26, 2008
Kampong Paya Jaras Dalam, Selangor, Malaysia
Mountain biking | 15.2 miles
Overall a fantastic place to ride cross-country. Essentially it is a huge palm oil estate. We do not know why, but the place is totally devoid of mosquitoes!!! Yeah!More information at http://wildgeeks.org
15 Nov 2009. 470 Riders, 3 stages, plenty of singletrack, one creek crossing, lots of mossies, mud and fun.We only did two of the stages due to the time limit on stage 3 – the full circuit is about 54 km. Maybe some other rider can post the log of the third stage.Do it. Take your GPS, lots of trails, don’t get lost. TAKE LOTS OF HIGH PERFORMANCE MOSSIE SPAY.

Kampung Subang, Selangor, Malaysia
Mountain biking | 5.3 miles
The wildgeeks comprising of George, Sean, Jack, Ken Wei and Joe returned to Rubber Research Institute (RRI) for another hash using a different route. This time, we played with some ramps created by fellow MTB riders and played along a technical single track trail downhill. Thereafter, we went back up and did one of the longest downhill we have ever done. Overall good and memorable trip. Will return for more.
At great 37KM ride through beautiful Palm Estate and Kampung Orang Asli !Connecting Puchong Tasik Prima area to Jenjarom town. It started with a horrible news. Drizzles !!! Seemed like we were not ableto ride. With the persistent mind set, we decide to get to the starting pointanyway. It turns out we have a chance to ride, but with the risk of heavydown pour since the sky were kinda gloomy. What the heck,…
It’s not a new trail. I last rode it 8 years ago. But I decided to map it anyway. Definitely a tougher option for those who would like to do a half Pg Hill ride than the last one I did on the same trail. But you get a more scenic view and longer downhill ride on the farmer trail…:)

Mountain biking | 5.1 miles
New exploration at Bukit Lagong ride with 3 friends of mine. The ride started with 1.5km tarmac heading towards the trail. Nice screnery pass through some kampung orang asli , waterfall. The trail a lot of uphill so we decided to push our bike up all the way. Of course will get a lot of rewards after reached to the point where mostly downhill. Theres a junction turning head towards FRIM trail we…

One of the most scenic mountain biking routes is the trail around the Batu Dam lake. Wanna join us on our rides? Visit http://wildgeeks.org for more info.
Last Saturday, we went on an easy and relaxing ride from FRIM to the nurseries in Sungai Buloh. We found out that if you enter the trails from FRIM, you have to pay a buck per person. But if you enter FRIM from Sungai Buloh, you save that buck. Heck, I think we will all pay… I am not going to drive all the way to Sungai Buloh just to avoid paying…

Mountain biking | 8.1 miles
Inaugural MTB ride for a friend who had just bought a mountain bike. Trail level considered suitable for a newbie to get acquainted with MTB. Trails comprised of lakeside gravel double track, palm estate fire road and tarmac. Total of apprximately 16km. Difficulty level goes from easy to moderate. The former makes the most part of the ride.
Parit Buntar 5 Hills

Parit Buntar, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
Mountain biking | 11.0 miles
I have not visited this trail for some time. When Maverick asked me if I wanted to join his group last week, I decided to join them. It is always one of the best trails in the Northern region of Malaysia. It is a trail for everyone. You want climbs? They have. Technical downhill? No problem. XC? Yup. Highly recommended for all…
I decided to visit the Blue House again but in reverse direction. The climb was not as tough as I thought. Also, thanks to one fellow rider, who we met at blue house, we found new trails and totally enjoyed it!
This is the Wildgeeks first trip to Bukit Cermin. Recommended by a bike shop owner, we decided to explore the trails there. The Bukit Cermin trails are along palm oil/rubber estate roads and some single track downhills. Mosquito repellent is a MUST here! These mozzies attack in swarms!!!! You can literally see the swarm chasing after you. Wanna join us on our rides? Visit http://wildgeeks.org for more info.
The idea was to go as much “offroad” as possible from where I live to Penang Hill. Recording starts at “the temple entrance” in Jalan Kenari. It ends when I reached roads that is shown at the map after descent from Bukit Bendera. Had a break at Bukit Bendera to get some more to drink.
Basically a nice non-technical Oil Palm Estate trail with minor climbs and nice long downhills! There are several natural jump points that can be improved. But since this is a private estate, not a good idea to start modifying. Very strange, there were hardly any mosquitoes! LOL.
A very demanding ride hosted by the KOTRT riders. I bonked even before I finished half of the ride, and I forgot I had power bar that will help me to overcome it!

A short and satisfying ride up to the orang Asli village in Asahan. Steep climb initially but you will be rewarded with the fast downhill. Lots of single tracks that lead to nowhere.
Gertak Sanggul Recce

Gertak Sanggul, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
Mountain biking | 4.4 miles
We went in before and already done 80% of the track. We went in this time to find the missing link and were glad we did. It was a ball and lung busting ride. My heart was felt like it was going to jump out from my mouth after that god forsaken climb from the road side to the top of the hill, which is incidently an adbandoned golf…
One of the much anticipated ride of the year is back with more single tracks, river crossings, shaded and open areas and 2 big hills to conquer. The first 3 checkpoints were moderate riding if you are reasonably fit but the last hill is a killer.

Mountain biking | 16.7 miles
This is my first time riding to Bukit Ramli, we started from a new bicycle shop at Alam Budiman called Nerd Cycle and was lead by a local rider. From Nerd Cycle, we hit the tarmac road of Jalan Batu Arang, coming to a cross junction we turn right into a so called Bukit Altantunya. Quite a step hill climb, then into single rocky trail. We did pass by the spot where…

Great network of trails for both beginners and more advanced riders, plenty of hills and varied terrain. Credits go to Kvyn from the Cyclemotion riders group for providing the inital location. We parked at the Kota Lok Heng township where there are friendly locals and safe parking can be found. Although it was drizzling a bit we decided to hit the trails and see how much fun these hills can be. The first…

by turbosnail on Jun 15, 2008
Machang Bubuk, Penang, Malaysia
Mountain biking | 6.4 miles
Awesome ride led by Michael. We did not complate the whole loop since by the time we finish the third hill, most of us were already exhausted. I definitely look forward to join his next ride again.
We were planning to do 1200 steps. When we rode along the Rifle Range, we decided to try the the trail that was leading to 39, a hill station before 84. Boy was it a tough one! I went over the handle bar when I was negotiating a slope and ended up with bruised knees and nose. Still recovering now.

Mountain biking | 0.0 miles
This is the first hash attended by my neighbours. Jim, Ghazali and Azif. I am so glad that they enjoyed the ride. We took the easier 15KM scenic ride instead of hard core 25KM. There is a meaning to the word Hash…. (hash hash hash hash… phew). I guess it was not easy for them. But do-able. The weekend training we perform around Bukit Jelutong seems to pay off. Cheers.

Mountain biking | 13.5 miles
This trip are basically a laughable misadventures of my buddies and me getting lost at FRIM trail and end up on top of the legendary Steroid Hill. The three of us are basically newbie recreational riders coming here to have some fun. And have fun we did.The first trail we took was the Aromatica Trail, a technical single trail which we love because it’s more of techniques and less on speed, a…
I tried the trail again and recced into branchoffs that I encountered during my first ride there. No luck though…:(
Hi there! welcome to check on this trail. It is a very light trail suitable for beginners who can be guided through without much difficulty. Even a very experience biker finds it enjoyable especially when he is paasing through the evergreen oil palm and rubber plantations, leading to resort like man-make lakes that were converted from disused mining pools. We started the ride from Petronas Gas station along the infamous Jalan Gopeng which served as the main trunk…
this time ride with a friend. forgot to turn on the tracking in the beginning thus the trail shown started from somewhere near the Sg. Ara creek. most recommended for beginner, where u will enjoy the windy view at the final destination
I saw a trail when decended to Rifle Range trail in my last ride. I decided to check it out this time. I was not dissappointed. This trail connects to another trail that I used to ride to Penang hill.
Haring the Bash with the FRB (Fast Riding Bastards) hence the few shortcuts I took to close the checks. This tracklog is Mike’s (Strappy) one.KLMBH

This is my second trip to Bukit Ramli. We had about 15-riders and was lead by a local rider. This time we start from Nerd Cycle (Alam Budiman) and into the back of the housing area. Paya Terubong, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
Mountain biking | 10.7 miles
This is the first time I try Blue Hill. Sad to say I did not manage to finish it. Very steep trail. I gave up after my riding partner told me that he wanted to call it the day afer 1/3 of the climb. Well, I was not better either. Already started pusing my bike 200m after the climb! We wanted to do it again!
From Equotarial Hotel Brincang to Teh Boh Factory. Refereshing, easy and fun ride..highly recommended to those come to cameron. Bring your bike ..very nice scenery of teh boh plantation
The last time I visited the trail was like 10 years ago. The trail is still 90% intact although in some section it was blocked intentionally by farmers. Andy and I had a blast!
This ain’t easy ride, compare to the usual Gertak Sanggul scenic MTB sourjoun. Be prepapred to brace for steep climbs. But I am glad I did it, finally…:)
